Sketch With Roisin - Becoming A Member

Welcome to my wonderful world of sketching! In my weekly classes I invite creative people from around the world, people exacly like you, to sketch with me, live online. Sketching subjects range from the mundane (what am I cooking for dinner?) to the natural world (what’s in the woods today?), from the urban (this is a nice café!) to the exotic (sketching on vacation!) and everything you can possibly imagine. The aim is ALWAYS to inspire you to sketch your own world, and to share great tips and techniques to make that more fun.

You can take one of my free classes, or buy one class, for €8 (about USD $9). You can choose one coming up from the below list, or one from my amazing archive of over 150 classes. Or you can choose one of our two memberships, which are unbelievable value: the first option is VIP Membership for 14.95 per month which includes free access to all upcoming Live Sketchalongs and 20% off past sketchalong downloads. The second option is 24.95 and includes free access to both Live and Past Downloads called VIP Deluxe. You even get to be part of the Sticker Squad with the Deluxe option, with monthly stickers sent to your door…that’s right, I said stickers!

All members get perks, like extra classes during the month, fun art contests (that’s new!) and discounts on products, but above all they join the community of sketching passionates through my private Facebook group, Sketch With Roisin. You don’t even have to be a member to join the community, all you need to do is to have bought just one class from my archive, or an upcoming class. That’s because I want true art lovers in the group!

We are a warm community from all over the world. If your time zone doesn’t allow you to be at a Live class, you can watch the recording – almost the same as being there. Then afterwards you can post your work in the private group..and that’s when the fun begins.

I look forward to meeting you! I get to know all my students personally – at about 120 members currently, it’s not so big that I don’t know everyone’s names and where they’re from. Fun and companionship are guaranteed!

Then…for those who become obsessed, there are in-person workshops once or twice a year. Now that’s SERIOUS fun – and always educational.

Zoom Sketchalong Art Classes

Nov 10th - Reflections In a Bottle

Last week’s class was – literally – a walk in the park.

This week will be much more challenging but it’s terrific practice in observation. A glass bottle is not difficult at all – as long as you are looking honestly and with concentration.

I will send you a list of the colours you need once you book.

See you at 3.00pm GMT Saturday 11th November!

Lovely sketches, tips on technique, personal stories, observations, views of Dublin. Much more than a book about urban sketching, this delightful book is a warm and chatty coffee table book about the artist’s observations, experiences, interactions, and hidden treasures encountered when out and about in Dublin. It’s a pen and ink, personalized tour book of an historic and vibrant city, with sketching tips throughout . I want to pack my sketching kit and get on a plane to see and sketch these sites, now that I’ve read this gem!

Captures Dublin beautifully This book was an impulse buy in a physical bookstore, I love the sketches and bought it largely for that reason. However it is more than beautiful sketching, the stories and seasonal approach are a really lovely way of capturing Dublin. The book lead me to Roisins fantastic online urban sketching classes and an obsession was born.

Artist and Travelogue full of character Roisin is a master at capturing the life, light and stories of a city in watercolour and words. This is a second book following on from her Galway book and it is wonderful. Just go buy it and get copies for your friends and family.

Beautiful sketches and fascinating facts. Beautiful book, I loved the one of Galway and I had been looking forward to the Dublin one. It’s like a super, alternate travel guide. Fantastic sketches and touching stories. (The books make great presents and have been loved by the people I sent them to).

It’s a Wonderful Book Róisín Curé’s way of combining a storytelling along with her art, give a flavour to this that is uniquely Irish, full of warmth and gentle wit. It’s not a tourist guide of Dublin, it’s one woman’s homage to that city, and as I read through this it was her voice I heard, even to the way she speaks about ‘the brother’.If you want to find Eire through someone’s eyes and stories then this and her book on Galway are for you.

    About Roisin

Hello! I’m Róisín Curé, from Galway, on the west coast of Ireland. Back in 2012 I discovered urban sketching, and since then a whirlwind of colour and line has swept through my life. I am so grateful for the happy accident that led me to stumble on urban sketching, and my life is infinitely richer as a result.

Now, as well as organising urban sketching workshops within Europe, I am a freelance urban sketcher. I currently carry out all kinds of sketching assignments, as varied as you can imagine, from festivals and weddings to all manner of businesses. I also teach children all about watercolour and drawing ( I have a quiverful of mini-urban sketchers ready and willing to pin down their lives in art!) and I run my local urban sketching chapter, Urban Sketchers Galway, with pride. We meet about once a fortnight, sometimes more, and we really enjoy the simple act of sketching together around the city.

I teach all kinds of topics, and I love to sketch all kinds of subjects. Above all I am passionate about others taking up their sketchbooks and joining in, in this absorbing and wonderfully satisfying activity.
